For guitarists: I've used 4ths inversions to create some far out sounds. Since the bass plays a pedal it gave me more harmonic freedom, always granted it goes with the melody.

Das sind quarten Akkord Umkehrungen. Du oktaviertst zb den obersten Ton des Akkordes und setzt ihn eine Oktave runter. Dadurch ergibt sich unten eine Sekunde. Andererseits hast Du dann ewig irgendwelche Obertöne und Susklänge wenn du die Originalakkorde darunter analysierst. Dbsus Ab69 usw. Da der Bass nur EINEN Ton darunter spielst hat man sehr viel harmonische Freiheit, solange es zur Melodie passt natürlich. Far out chords werden die manchmal auch genannt.

Das Konzept lässt sich vielleicht bis um 1200nChr. Zurückverfolgen zu einem Komponisten namens Perotin.
