I was jamming to this song and really liked how the tom groove fit into the feel of the overall song, so I decided I'd cover it. There are also a lot of parts that lend themselves to added fills; they're probably a little much in context, but for me, that's the fun of covering stuff!

Thanks! They're actually just cheap-o CAD mics - if you want more details, check out the Equipment section of "Drum Mic Tutorial." In my opinion, the sound comes more from the post-processing and tuning of the drums than the actual mic itself.

Less than $3,000 has gone into this drum set over the course of over 11 years of ownership, maybe $4,000 if you count all mics, equipment, head replacements, and broken sticks over the years. That second figure comes out to about $1 per day to do what I love to do the absolute most as a hobby. To me, $1/day is not very expensive at all.

Thanks! I really appreciate it - I'd like to think part of it is that I don't play too much popular stuff (Evanescence is probably about as mainstream as I get), but heck, I'd love to have the attention someone like Cobus has!
