thanks for the info im just using an orion planetary cam and 1.5 barlow and also pulling back camera for max mag iwil try longer barlow when the weather and atmosphere cooperate i live on long island sao far il bet my littl 80 ed against a bigger planetary scope that it will most likely be cloudy tonighe the first 2 weeks i had camera it was cloudy and rainy

@perrin6 yea well, wether you prefer a leaf, or jupiter, the fact is there are about 1000 billions leaves on the world to pick up and look at.
But only one jupiter, about 350 million miles away..

just curios what is your scopes focal lenght and are you filtering

@weasele1 - Hello, Its been a while since I shot this one but I remember using my Tak 130 TOA and a 5x barlow. The Tak has a focal length of f7.7 so with a 5x barlow it would be 38.5. I usually shoot my planetary images around f40. I'll usually vary the distance between camera and barlow to add or subtract magnification as needed. For filters I just used a baader UV/IR filter. The Toucam was a color ccd.
