This is a test of the Hobart plasma cutter on our new Torchmate 2x2 CNC Prototyping Machine. CNC Plasma Cutting is just one of this machines uses. We will be debuting the machine on PirateTV, which you can find at www.pirate4x4.com on the evening of Tuesday, January 12th.     I will take that as a wait and see.

    I reckon at the moment it is costing me in outsourcing laser cutting in a 12 month period, what your 2x2 would cost. Max size I get cut is around 3x3. I am 90% certain I am going to take the plunge with torchmate, the other 10% is leaning me towards plasma cam, purely for the software and no other reason. Although as neither are available as evaluation copies it is impossible to be absolutely certain.

  • Been looking around for something like this for a while now. Torchmate have been the sole company that has constantly impressed me throughout my research. Are there any plans to do a 4 x 4 version of this set up?

  • @MrMesluk yes, that is a hand held torch on the machine so it can be removed for hand held use.
