@triggsy80 fyi, most western european royals are all from the same lineage, and the congo was the private fiefdom of leopold who just happened to be king of belgium as well. after he was forced to hand over the territory to the belgian state the conditions there were no worse than in your own colonies... btw, are you one of those british people who glorify their despicable colonial past?

Her "lineage"?? ... in the Congo - ?? ... Fabiola is Spanish. That's where her "lineage" comes from: Spain. They had nothing to do with the Congo. The evildoer in the Congo was Belgium's King Leopold II, who was Queen Fabiola's deceased husband's great-grandfather. Not quite "immediate family". And the atrocities in question, the subject of an international scandal, were exposed and written about - by Roger Casement - Joseph Conrad - etc. They took place about 100-140 years ago.
