Manticore Bomb Run Explained

An fairly quick explanation of how to drop a bomb from a manticore.

Flying one of these can be quite a handful, and something definintely not fully covered in 5 minutes, but this should get someone on track

Save yourself some isk and get onto SISI [test server] and have a play, to get a feel for them, they are a unique ship and deserve a bit of attention aimed at finesse, these ships require both hands to fly [hehe]

If you are flying with others, make sure you are all VERY clear with 'what to do when who says what'

If you are bombing in a pack, make sure you all use the same bomb type, regardless of your ships faction, this can either be decided on your targets known weakness, or the bonus damage type of the ship faction which is most prevalent in your pack, if you do not do this, your bombs will blow each others bombs up, cancelling out your massive alpha damage potential [check the info sheet for each bomb type and look at resistances]

A successful run will heavily depend upon your ability to pick the right moment, this is primarily 'being in the right place at the right time' experience and patience will find you in that sweet spot more often

Excercise that fight or flight mechanism, know when you have the upper hand, your cloak is 99% of 'the upper hand', and the minute you uncloak, you have lost it, and your next move should be 'poop and scoot' so have that align spot ready before you even uncloak

Ok I have been playing with the test server and I can't do the one drop pop like you did there. Did you Damage them once before then recorded this? Or were those frigates and destroyers?

@clawoftiamat tbh, i cant honestly remember what the shiptypes were, i can say that there was no previous damage to them though, it might be worth mentioning that i have covops skill @ lvl 5, and all my painter [and painter support skills] are between lvl 4 and 5

The vid was not so much about dropping the pack of ships successfully, it was more about the method of deliverance, good luck !

Been trying to find an answer to this so maybe you can help, if a stargate was in range of the blast when it goes off would I incur the wraith of concord or does it not actually hit the stargate?

@DevilDragon911 bombs can only be launched in nullsec... its cowboy country out there =]

So in short, no, hit the stargate as many times as you like, concorde will not show their frilly skirts out there !

one thing i will add, for a "perfect" (in a respect) bombing run, you should position yourself in such a way that if you allign to a planet, the target(s) is in between you and the celestial object.

thus, you can uncloak, launch the bomb, and be in warp all in the space of literally, about 1 second as you dont have to spend time aligning.

although this can take considerable time, it will ensure you dont get caught and killed

@damnicantfindaname ...definately not me, lol. This video you made got me in to stealth bombers,and taught me well enough to rake up a nice 28-2 record with 'em. You did an excellent tutorial, anybody who in my corp who asks me about bombers gets shown this vid.

@gonger03 the bomb travels at 3000m/s it detonates in 10 seconds, this means it will travel 30km before detonating, the speed of your ship does not affect the speed of the bomb in any way, but the direction which your ship is flying most certainly does
