This was a 5K run for Shrock of Love, a non-profit initiative created to help non-insured cancer patients as they deal with extra expenses.
The runner, Todd Luoto, told donors he would drink a glass of milk and eat a donut every $100 he raised. He also threw in the extra twist of doing it all in a winter jacket (100% designed for sub-zero temperature...with attached vest, etc), and sporting some daisy duke denim shorts. Proceeds went to 24-year-old Stephanie Shrock, who is currently fighting Hodgkin's lymphoma without health insurance.
He ate two donuts a minute before the start of race, and a quarter of a gallon. He ate another donut and an 1/8 of a gallon at mile 1.5. He then ate another donut and finished the half gallon at mile 2.7.
If you're interested, you can help/join the Shrock of Love family by going to the website www.shrockoflove.com or mysepace.com/ shrockoflove. Donations, leaders and creative elite always welcome.
