Early eighties San Pedro Ca Punk Rock Band Moleman preforming at the Woodstock club, Buena Park (maybe Anaheim) Ca, 1983. Moleman were an early eights punk rock band from San Pedro Ca. Their name was influenced by their elder mentors The Minutemen, who gave them the honor of being able to play in the same secret underground rehearsal complex deep below the earth. Other teachers,Shamen were Black Flag, and Saccrine Trust. Moleman were Jon Cassick(1964-1989) bass, Bill "AZ JR" Ankiewicz guitar, Mike Ortega drums. Their contemporaries during the early eighties were Hari Kari, Assemblage, The Defenders, (Mad Max, Manuel Bagier(1964-2005) Alma McLay, Johnny Blasing,were one incarnation of Hari Kari. Bagier, Blasing and Eric Binkley comprised Assemblage. David Rojas, Ray Robinson, Max, Blasing and AZ JR rounded out The Defenders. Eric Binkley wrote the opening WHO RULES AMERICA. Cassick, Ankiewicz Ortega wrote Barton Hill Bossa Nova, Black Cat.

  • Heak Ya he is awesome. The ending of it reminds me of "The Who" Who Rules America. Moleman were Way ahead of their time. They eased right in to the next song perfectly!
