As a college student I feel that we need more people like you in power. People who stand up for what is the right thing to do and are not bought out of their vote. Tomorrow I have a debate, I will be the opponent. I am inspired to go on and shame the advocate for defending such thing.

Most people in America DO have govn't healthcare - Rep. Paulsen - you are one of them. Medicare, VA, Medicaid.. all govn't programs, and so far, no govn't interference with people & their doctors. I fail to understand why that is a reason to vote against HCR. We are already paying for the uninsured/underinsured - so why not cover them and pay more upfront to save in the end? I wish you would have listed specific subsections you are against.. Because I watched this and really learned nothing.

Well DONE. I am glad you voted against this bill. The people did not get to see what is in this bill and they do not know what it contains. They drew it up behind closed doors and take the vote very late on a Saturday night. Is That any way to run a government? Where was the transparency? Where was the media, asking the tough questions? Most people do not want government healthcare. If it is so good why are members of congress refusing to go under this plan. IT IS BAD FOR AMERICA

WELL DONE. Thank you for your No VOTE. It is important to get any changes to health care to be the RIGHT changes. Voting on a bill after meeting behind closed doors and NOT LETTING WE THE PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT WHAT IS CONTAINED IN THE BILL is not the way government should be doing business. Stand firm. Stop the spending and TRILLION dollar debt on the next generation.

From the last paragraph an an AP article detailing the Republican alternative...

"A Republican alternative was rejected on a near party line vote of 258-176.

It relied heavily on loosening regulations on private insurers to reduce costs for those who currently have insurance, in some cases by as much as 10 percent. But congressional budget analysts said the plan would make no dent in the ranks of the uninsured"
