On a stage shared with Mitt Romney at the Republican debate Tuesday, Rick Perry downplayed comparisons pastor Robert Jeffress previously made between Mormonism and cults, saying instead that Americans understand faith and have lost faith in President Obama.

Mormons claim the God of Earth (Eloheim) lives near a star called Kolob. Joseph Smith prophesied the US government will face a Constitutional crisis. The Mormon Church will take charge and save the country. I live in Utah - it is a Theaocracy. You DON'T want a Mormon President and his Mormon cabinet - trust me.

Judging someone simply on what religion they practice (whether christianity, judaism, islam, or mormonism in this case) is, to me, like judging someone by their race. They all believe in one common God. Our Founding Fathers wanted to start America based on RELIGIOUS FREEDOM from Britain. George Washington is probably rolling in his grave right now to think that our country is still stuck back in the 1600's where society is so close-minded. I believe in acceptance, not accusations.
