In 1925, Union General Hospital was founded by a local woman whose son had died after a fall from a horse. She believed, if only there had been a hospital nearby, her little boy might have been saved. Lack of enthusiasm, outdated equipment, and insufficient funds led to its closing. Ever since that day, people from that town have to travel 20 miles away for any sort of hospital care. The property is being reviewed by the County Attorney but then again, that article was dated back to 2006... This is its condition as of 2009: Obviously they have yet to find a solution.
