Spoon is really genius. It is a clean non-Jeff Lynde sounding simple but not smooth sound. A good amount of the melodies aren't invented but FOUND. A lot of their songs have that timeless sound -- the feeling that they've been around forever... but truly original... really amazing band. An old brain sound... emotional, cutting to the quick. Inspirational.

Britt citing the BeeGees as inspiration makes loads of sense to me; I don't know why the interviewer's called that lame! All that groove in Spoon's music had to have come from somewhere, right?
