@ClassicTVMan1981X A friend of mine has one with the army green bag too.

@ClassicTVMan1981X Thanks for the info on the American models, such a shame they're not still "Proudly made" as you put it!

And those from the early 1960s used army green bags.

@Greenstead What always amazes me about these old Hoovers is their astounding quality.Even the motor armatures are balanced properly.

It is either from the 1930s or 1940s. The early/mid 1950s dustettte had bronze colour casing and a brown bag. The late 1950s dustette had light blue casing and a blue bag. There are a few on e bay.

l'm sorry to say you're quite right. All plastic rubbish now. :-(

The CHLORIDE GENT 1500 sirens used Hoover Dustette motors to spin the rotor around. Look them up on YouTube and you will find a couple of videos of them running- Same with the Master Blaster 127 alarms

@RediffusionMusic Good heavens.Well a Hoover motor would be a good choice for that.as they're a high speed design. Thanks for the tip.

I believe the U.S.-market Dustettes were models 1015, 2720 and 2610. I believe the 2610 was the latest.
We also had the Pixie, which to the rest of you is simply Dustette with cleaning tools. Models we had were 2830 and 2836 (these two imported from England), and the 2914 (?) and S1005 (both of which shared design with the Handivac/Quik-Broom) which were proudly made in North Canton, OH.
