Part 6 of 6 of a Fantastic Rockabilly documentary from 1981 produced by Janet Street Porter with Danny Baker narrating. Part of a series of 20th Century Box programmes on youth sub cultures with some great footage which really captures the spirit of the London Rockabilly scene at this time. • oh cool how bout that blues bopper?

  • Other tracks are Chew Tobacco Rag No2 by Billy Briggs and Shake Your Money Maker by Elmore James. May be good to add a track listing?

  • Jiver is That's Right by The Five Keys very popular at the time as a new re-issue album was released. I think the DJ Fifties Flash was involved in that release. You can download tracks from itunes.

  • Brings back a lot of memories about the animosity that the Freds felt about the non-orthodox styles. Being a Psychobilly back then could be hazardous to your health. However, we all get fat and old in the end.

  • Stray Cat's not rockabilly or rock and roll? LOL. I'm a rock and roll guy. Grew up with Elvis then other rockabilly and 50's rock and roll then 60's with Motown, Beatles and the Stones, then classic rock. As I got going with with this music I discovered the roots more. The first time I really heard the blues I realized too my ears it was slowed down rock and roll. Deep down in my soul I'm blues and rockabilly. I still slick my hair back, wear blue suede shoes and own a 57 chevy.
