Indeed, the record of Christianity in terms of human rights, respect towards others and sheer human decency is less than glorious. From the Inquisition, witch-hunts and child molestors, there's nothing they havn't done. I've apostasied my faith 2 years ago and have never looked back.

Good old Mr. Hicks, taking the high road and not commenting on the OTHER thing Catholic priests sink into you as a child. I miss you Bill.

"Christianity's the weird one though, you know. Christianity's such an odd religion, you know. I was raised that way, you know, and you suffer for it. You know, the whole image is that, YOU KNOW..."
Quite a few 'you know's in those few sentences. Haha!

@DragoonBoom well that was a hair that needed splitting :/

@TheFockerizer Science, or factual information looks to inform, while religion is a tool used to control the stupid.
Scientists seek answers, and clergymen do their best to get people to keep coming to their shows, to continue watching them. Sounds kinda like consumerism, intelligence-sapping entertainment and the government-controlled media.
You see where I'm getting at? It's not what people are doing or saying, it's what happens as a result of an action.

Science offers reasonable explanations to many of our questions, and science has cures for many aliments. Science isn't afraid to say it doesn't know and science isn't afraid to look for answers. Religion seeks to keep people in subjugation and claims that everything is the will of God. Religion demands obedience and punishes thinking.
Science seeks answers, religion looks for excuses
