How exactly is that different from the private insurers? yeah, you can "appeal", fat lotta good it does you. Nobody working for the insurance companies is on your side. At least some in Washington are, not enough, though. "No choice"? The public option my make the insurance companies obsolete, like the stagecoach industry or the muleskinners' union, but they're not gonna close Blue Crosse's doors and tell them to go sell apples.

Reply - Part 1: To take you second point first: In order to price the public option at a point where it is accessable by the bottom of the socio-economic scale (the uninsured that the Gov't wants to provide coverage for) it is going to have to be subsidized by tax receipts (you and the rest of us are paying for some of it). It will be priced below anything that the insurance companies can reasonably match and therefore becomes the low-cost option.

This video sums it up pretty well. For my government class last year I read the Communist Manifesto, and it sounds almost exactly like this bill H.R. 3200 along with some of Hitler's Ideas. I don't like the idea of the government running the country 100%. Regardless of what others may think socialism and communism do not work. It's not working for other countries why do they think it will work here.

If the government wanted to look at your finances or personal records they could already as you do most likely have a ss#. EVERYONE will be able to get insurance. Nobody will be left out including people will special needs. That is simply a scare tactic.This will not be free and illegals will not be covered as there is a law against that on the books already. They will however be covered in the event of an emergency as this is America and we do not let folks die in the streets here.

The whole thing about employers auto enrolling you into the public option plan is an out and out lie. You will be free to choose. Right now at many jobs it is mandatory that you buy the insurance they choose for you even if you don't like it or want it. If you don't then you lose your job.

This whole idea that care will be rationed is ridiculous. Participation in the exchange is actually a convienence for you the customer and a way to make sure the insurance comapanies are competitive. We already have forms of these exchanges in the car insurance business... and people love being able to compare and save.
