Blondie represented the new wave of punk at the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame and remained punk's lone representatives with the Sex Pistols not showing up. They were ushered into the hall on Monday night in their hometown of New York City by Garbage singer Shirley Manson, who called Debbie Harry the most beautiful woman on earth. She also noted that Harry became the standard bearer by which most women in the industry are measured to. "Blondie will also enter the Hall Of Fame as one of the coolest, most glamorous, most stylish bands in the history of Rock and Roll, which leads me of course to pause at the feet of Debbie Harry. Debbie Harry, the most beautiful girl in any room in any city on any planet."...

I grew up with Frank and he's a great guy. He was a super guitar player back then.

RG - during the heyday, chris' contributions were invaluable! he may not be hendrix, but hes written great lyrics and music for Blondie. they ALL did. ok, nigel and frank to a lesser degree, but i still love me some "i know but i dont know!"

Frank and Nigel played on most all the hits of Blondie. John Fogerty pulled the same crap with CCR and even Paul McCartney with the Beatles. It's really a shame.

Still waiting for Marianne Faithfull to be inducted. Substance over style.

Frank Infante & Nigel Harrison were there when Blondie were at their peak. Yes, they deserve credit for the band's success. I hate to see dissent in a band I absolutely love!

Is the 3rd person who sued them Jimi Destri or Gary Valentino?

I read that Nigel Harrison was initially asked to rejoin the group and even recorded some demos with the band for the album No Exit but was later dropped from the band before the record was finished. Does anyone know why he was asked to rejoin then later dropped?

@StephanJK-Not villifying him. He is doing something valuable. But as you admit he had major problems. I know he wasn't happy about the band not touring with him, but it wasn't exactly arbitrary either. As to this lawsuit I keep hearing about, time will tell.

@kingofallwhites-No, but it's amazing what you can learn when you make an effort. When you publicly villify people you need to have the facts straight. These personal conflicts go way back. Maybe it's one person's fault, maybe the other. But it's music, not masochism. Blondie is not unique in this. And like you said, what do we expect? Maybe it's expected that lawsuits would emerge whatever their ultimate (lack of) merits, but its equally expected that the other side might seriously resent it.
