Thanks for the convo Jon. I'm two months on the hobby and I may need some help in the future. So ur tips are very helpful .

  • @OfficialViniVaniLLa

I agree, I only handle them when I need to

  • @Jon3800

well I prefer not to handle any of my tars ... i only do so when its needed....like when i have to change or clean their house.

i think that tars are animals that like privacy and feel nervous when they get handled..

  • @OfficialViniVaniLLa

it depends on what species. Most bites are harmless and they are similar to bee stings. These bites I speak of are from the new worlds species, like the B.smithi (mexican red knee) and G,rosea (rosehair)

The bites I've just mentioned to you are from what the old worlds species would do like H.lividum (cobalt blue) and Indian Ornamental (P.regalis), so that's why its good to have some exp before dealing with these. Bites are rare if you take precautions + give respect

  • @Jon3800

thnx for ur fast reply Jon...

In Greece i doubt there are any doctors who can take care of a guy bitten by a tar....no tars live here...so i guess its best to avoid being bitten :P

  • @OfficialViniVaniLLa

severe muscle cramps, major aches and pains, nausea. Most likely you might need medical attention

  • @Jon3800

but whats the worst that can happen to u after being bitten by a tar?

  • @reptilefreak100

all of my old world species, like H.lividum, the OBT, S.calceatum (my most potent) and the poecilotheria sp
