Social Care - Living With Alzheimer's

John and Mildred Story. Produced in partnership with the Department of Health, C.S.I.P, and Worcestershire County Council, Buying Freedom is being distributed to all local authorities in the county.
The DVD shows how adults in need of social care are given money directly to arrange and buy their own care instead of receiving social services as part of the national scheme, which was introduced in 1996.
The DVD, was launched nationally by Care Services Minister, Ivan Lewis, and Worcestershire County Councils Director of Adult and Community Services, Jennie Bashforth, in Manchester on May 21 2007.
Jennie Bashforth, the County Councils Director of Adult and Community Services, said: The film is intended to inspire people to think more creatively about the opportunities to have choice and control in how their needs are met and live more fulfilled and independent lives.
