Hard to believe, it was 40 years ago this week - Jan. 20, 1973 - when my favourite song by The Spinners made its debut on the Billboard Top 40 charts. I still remember the first time I heard this song in its entirety - a snowy Saturday night in Windsor, Ont. mid-December of '72 and coincidently was just passing the CKLW (The Big 8) studio with the street lit up for Christmas and the lights of the Detroit skyscrapers across the river, combining to create a life-lasting memory.
