Let me just say that the anchors words and voice may not be entirely his fault. If owners, news directors, producers, and station management say do it this way then you do it. I don't know the exact situation, but I can say that the way he is talking is a bit tabloid and sensationalistic. Thanks for posting this.

As for Bob ever "letting" Karen toss to the open, at 95% of stations, it's the newscast producer who decides which anchors read which copy.
At my station, if one anchor has the top story one night, the other anchor has it the next night, and so on... Only a few big-time, long-tenured anchors across the country can command having the top story or tossing to the open each night.
