dude, NO, it doesnt. Im an airsmith, i know what im talking about, i do work on ALL of my guns and my buddies/teammates guns, i know what im talking about, you on the other hand...
No matter what battery, the spring gets pulled back the same amount every time, BATTERIES DO NOT AFFECT FPS AT ALL. I can shoot a JG gun on an 8.4 at 410 fps and on an 11.1v lipo at 410 fps, i can use a 9.6v and it will still shoot 410.

the Airsoft GI review clocked it at 430-450... what is the explaination?

Chronographs are inaccurate things. They use a different chrono than we do and they may have a more recent version. JG seems to be upping their stock FPS rates.
