Always interestedin a Kermodia rant but thre is no way you could make an interesting Wicker man film in my opinion becaue the original one was so boring anyway. Its just Edward Woodward banging on about God and Jesus, Christopher Lee coming on in stentatorian fashion and banging about how he believes in spirits. There were some good set pieces, like the women trying to tempt Woodward, but the characters were so wooden and one dimensional I just didn't care when Woodward was killed.

Yes, the remake was a pile of cack, but the searing reviews are wonderful. I can almost forgive the remake, 'cos it let Mark Kermode do his thing on it.

@JamesOhGoodie Well remember, "Not the Bees" is part of the alternate ending that is only avaliable on DVD. I saw the film in theatres for a laugh and it cut that whole scene out, opting to have "Killing me won't bring back your goddamn honey" in voiceover.
