"Tam Lin" meets Finnish love song where I've changed both for my own story. This film received one of the six Special Awards for MachinUWA IV--"the human heart"; it focuses on Soror Nishi's enchanted trees, both at the UWA art galleries and at her "Boogaloo" sponsored by Split Screen. Tributes as well to:

Briawinde Magic (who furnished the "thought wings" for the mortal woman--on display at UWA art galleries),
Bryn Oh's Scientist's laboratory at her installation "The Path";
Cherry Manga's "Aerie" at Per4mance MetaLES, and whose "Bird in Love" and several other pieces there were exhibited at the UWA originally;
Claudia222 Jewel's lush world at The Path;
Rebeca Bashley's Inferno sponsored by LEA;
Scottius Polke's giant chemical lab at The Path.

I was enchanted by the song by Laura Ryhanen featured on Simon V's Digital Christmas Album. The story does not represent the lyrics... entirely. And it finds something sinister in a region that isn't. But I heard in the song something more ominous than its short lines relate, and put everything together in a magic tree. ;)

My poetic rendition of the song, with the help of Qvark and Anders:

I, a maiden, sing and pray
For you the last verse that I say.
Love sends many to the grave
If the one you love you cannot have.

  • Wow... amazing. Your work is terrific. Congrats.

  • @cffbaddcde So is YOURS! on which it's based, and which gave me the idea. ;)

  • Wow apparently your aging system still works great :) You used the avatars SO well, especially the Evil Sorceress person the intervals with her were frightening and the stricken wolf I found strangely affecting. You made so much of the settings esp Soror's work which looms such fantastic clouds of color

  • @2SenseProductions lol... yeah, no time yet to set up the new one, and Soror's amazing Boogaloo was going to be torn down by November 1. :( :( Stricken wolf... oddly, the lag (his tail...) worked out to suggest feeble strength. Thanks for you much appreciated comments, 2Sense.

  • Tam Lin is a legend from the Scottish borders, from the area my Grandmother comes from.

  • @gorseydog that's so cool, Gorsey! Of course in the real story the fairy queen makes the mortal woman hold onto her lover while he changes into a host of different dangerous creatures ...I just couldn't manage that! lol
