I'm a 72 year old white male, with a Ph.D. in American Studies and Sociology, and I never heard about this until yesterday! I thought that I knew it all, the lynchings, the Detroit riots, etc., but the worst of all somehow eluded me! How can we correct our mistakes, if we don't study them? Yes, a Black man is president, but racism is still very much alive. One must study the past in order to avoid making the same or similar mistakes in the present and future.

Let me help you out... First, it was not a "race riot", it was a mass-murder, and Tulsa 1921 is just one example of the mass-murders that took place in the USA. Second, Obama has NO ancestors that served as slaves in the USA, so he is not a Black American but an African from Kenya. Obama may have brown skin, but don't confuse him with a Black American.

Im white and ive never been jealous of anybody because of their skin, I am happy in my own skin, and everyone should be happy with whatever shade GOD decided to make you. Ive never understood or do I want to try and understand racism.
