@basehead617 Oh, and make sure you hear "It's a Jungle in Here" if you haven't already. You'll dig it for sure :)

@basehead617 They didn't exactly *embrace* that scene, but they were canny enough to take the ticket and album sales from their new fans, wookies or no. :) I agree that Notes and Friday Afternoon are amazing, but I think you do a disservice to Shack-Man, Combustication, The Dropper (!!) and Uninvisible. They're all excellent IMO, but definitely very different from one another.

hmm, a groovy sense... love it....

@Jiglet lol

it's a shame they went through that whole period of being associated with jam bands, thing (and embraced it..).. love their first album with John on acoustic piano, and this album is incredibly inventive. Could do without the 3 albums or so before this one.. Friday Afternoon In The Universe is killer too.

just stumbled upon this. fuck me for missing out.

BTW, this is pertinent: the album titled "End of the World Party (Just in Case)" was released in September, 2004. The 2004 U.S. presidential elections took place in November of that year, resulting in George W. Bush getting a 2nd term in office.
It's no coincidence that songs like this one, "Anonymous Skulls," "New Planet," and "Bloody Oil" were released against the backdrop of this election and the ongoing American war in Iraq.

With judgement day almost upon us, this song is highly relevant.
