  • If you listen, the music is also pitched down. You probably played it back on a tape machine which runs at a slighly different speed to the one it was recorded on. You can correct the pitch of the recording with many software packages that are free.

  • @rareads No manipulation of the tape speed. If anything, I would've up'ed it. It's just how Radio1 sounded in 1992!

  • Audio is too slow, needs the pitch correcting. Tongy sounds drunk!

  • @rareads No change in the speed involved. That's just how it used to be back then. Are you perhaps Bob from Barry Island?

  • jeff young bigbeat was the biz before tong... but tong moved it to the next level :)

Jeff Young (and to be fair my older sister) was a seed of my love for dance music from the late '80s. Remember Jeff Young's "N-n-n-national Fresh"? Way back in the day we had to listen to Jeff on mediumwave...

  • Oh man 92 was such a big year for dance music! I only wish I'd been old enough to appreciate it...

  • Shame. I was learning to drive in an Allegro at the time. No one was gonna nick that!
