My husband bought me this movie when it came out, knowing how much I loved the cartoon. I was infuriated. - Present day: My son wanted to watch it (he is 4 and likes the Avatar cartoon). I put it in and ten minutes into the movie, he is complaining that it isn't the same thing, and wants it turned off. WHY did he say this- because the names weren't pronounced correctly. Even a 4 year old can see how crappy this movie was made in comparison to the cartoon. Ugh, and I am infuriated all over again.

This movie did not even need to be made. The series is already perfect. Why did anybody need to see the story in a watered down hour and a half version? If you want to see the story of Avatar the Last Airbender, just watch Avatar the Last Airbender!

I don't see why people didn't like it. Yes, everything the people said was right. Everything was rushed and messed up, but I liked it. Maybe everyone just had high expectations for it. I knew it would suck.

yeah the pronunciations were strange, but being chinese, i seriously think it's supposed to be pronounced "ong". the chinese vowel "ang" is in fact pronounced that way and aang written chinese is "a-ang"

otherwise yeah "ong" was unnecessary

well i think a movie is a fantastic idea. specifically, a well-produced and -directed movie. maybe instead of one stinking pile of crap they made only the first half of season 1. the possibility was infinite and that is why this pathetic flop of a movie hurts so much.

Correct in all technicality,but you search the shit on Netflix and it begs to differ,however I was referring in part to someone's comment on the Dragon ball movie. I'm not arguing over what it is,just sayin,they have turned CARTOONS (Mr.picky pants) into live action movies successfully many times in Japan and Korea.

the movie has ruined my love of avatar the last airbender, they made aang way to serious and my neighbor made a joke about the m misprounouncing oppa. (im doing it now) aang quick hop on opra (its not that good)

I suppose it would have turned out better if Shamadali lama was not directing it, but even if Spielberg had the privalage to bring ATLA to the big screen, I would still be complaining. No point in making a version of the story where many important elements and plot points have to be left out.
