I was filming 20 foot up on the cliff filming the swells when got caught by surprise... and almost took me in with it. I was wedged into a crevasse safely away from the cliff. Many people jump off this cliff into the water and wash up to the rocks safely. But then there are some that do not make it, RIP, I was filming it to see what the locals were talking about and how dangerous it was.

  • "that was a wave"?!!?!?!?

do you live in PR, 'cause let's say you were lucky standing there, couple of accidents have happen at that very scene.

  • Yeah I was lucky, I was in a small crater about 4ft deep so I was safely watching the swells. It does not show the true height of these waves from this point, looking across to the rocks they are at least 15+ feet out of the water and on video they only look to be 2ft-4ft. On the other side of the cliff there were a lot of white crosses so I knew what I was to be careful.

    Peace!!

  • I was at that exact spot yesterday at about 6 pm, low tide, and it was still frightening. I climbed through the area at :24 of your video, and across to the other side. Jagged rocks.

  • crazy, I live here in Vega Baja PR, I just to cliff dive there The name of the place is EL CORSARIO, many people die there thats why u see a white cross on the top of the cliff.

  • that is spectacular but scary at the same time!!!

  • I'm from the Island and have been to that spot . It's called "El Corsario". It's a 25-30 ft. drop with about 25ft. depth on *beach season*. When out of season it's a whole different thing, with turbulent water swells frequently reaching and covering the top of the cliff. Two days ago a young man drowned there. His body was recovered yesterday. It was all over the news here. Check more ''el corsario vega baja'' videos to see the difference in shore conditions. Stay at shore areas not cliffs.

  • esas olas te caen encima y te 'chupan' y te arrastran mar adentro. Una amiga mia por poco muere en un accidente de esos, mirando.

Para los turistas, cuando vayan a Roma hagan como los Romanos. Si la gente del sitio te dice que es peligroso, no los subestimes. El prejuicio te puede costar la vids.

  • hi, my name is carlos and i am from vega baja. dude, did u saw da white cross in the other side on the top of the rock? thera are like 3 of those in different areas, and they represent people that have been kill by the water in that spot, i live in chicago since november 09, but a i use to go everyday to the beach cause i surf, and always i stop by with some friends to jump to the water from that white cross. i have even seen huge sharks in there!! is cool to feel the adrenaline it causes!!

  • you r crazy man/

i used to go to that beach when i was in puerto rico

  • Clean yo beach

  • ahhhhhh tu eras uno de esos lokos? pero te quedo brutal el video eso si, no creo que valiera que te arriesgaras la vida pero cada quien con su historia, por lo menos tienes prueba de que estabas alli.
