From mid-1996, here is a CNBC "America After Hours" show with the cast of the original Mission Impossible, talking about their lives and the "new" Mission Impossible movie! This is part 1 of 3. Sorry for the distorted video quality, I got this in from someone else.

I'm sad to have our Peter Graves pass on! thanks for posting this ! anyway...now that we have all seen the movie of Mission.....they should have NEVER had Jim Phelps character turn against the fellow operative.....it would NEVER have happened in the tv series!

Greg Morris actually walked out on the film. He was disgusted. Martin Landau, Barbara Bain and Peter Graves were also not happy with the "plot twist" that had Jim Phelps as the bad guy. I didn't like it myself, frankly, having loved the series over the years.

I never will buy that Jim Phelps did it. I maintain that it was an impersonator, and the real Jim Phelps had been kidnapped & was being held prisoner somewhere (or possibly even killed, but I don't like that option) while some bad guy took over his life.

If you watch the part two of this episode, you will hear Greg Morris saying how he'd walked out of the theatre because he was disgusted over what the filmmakers had done to besmirch the characters of the TV show. Everyone else was dancing around the topic, but Greg hit the nail on the head. And good for him, because he was RIGHT.
