evilferet2,
Thank you for bringing that to our attention... After slowing the video down and watching it frame-by-frame, I can tell you that while the video edit makes it appear as if the AH-1 Cobra exploded, it in fact did not. What you see is the Cobra deploying its countermeasures.
Semper Fidelis,
Sgt. Todd Hunter

1:55, the F-18 that pulls up behind the pilots head is not a marine corps aircraft. It is an F/A-18 super hornet, which is not flown by the marines, only the navy.

If you go to the exact frame, and pause you see it coming from the wings/armament pylons area. If you look up an AH-1W (the one in the video), you can see that there are flare dispensers mounted just inside of the outboard pylon.

Im no expert nor am I trying to discredit you but Im sure that if this Cobra were to have countermeasures of any sort they would be deployed from the rear sides or bottom and not out of the exhaust of the engine.
Great all around video though.
Thanks

Fuel Quantity is a lot more formal than the "this is ridiculously awesome" gesture in this video...
