Free Bradley Manning Rally in San Francisco

Groups and individuals, including notable activists such as
Daniel Ellsberg, spoke in support of the young American
soldier accused of leaking information about war crimes.

The primary video under discussion is known as

Daniel Ellsberg, at the end of this video, leaked the "Pentagon Papers" during the Vietnam War.
It was a considerable amount of material and
depicts manipulation and betrayal by DC. The anti-
war activist Noam Chomsky, who received an early
copy of the Pentagon Papers, provides insight in
"The Backroom Boys" which is reprinted in For Reasons
of State. Chomsky pointed out much of what was not
covered or barely mentioned in the Pentagon Papers
because of establishment contempt for the Vietnamese
people.

Ray McGovern was a former top CIA analyst. His writings
often appear on www.commondreams.org.

Ann Wright was a former military officer and state department employee who resigned over the US
invasion and occupation of Iraq. She is active in
many Middle-East causes and a core member of
CODEPINK.

I only included footage of about half the speakers as
I was trying to rush this out quickly.

The location for the initial speeches was near the Opera Building and City Hall. Science fiction fans will know this from Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? Activists and avid film viewers will associate the area with Harvey Milk.

Thank you Ray McGovern for sharing the foreign policy mindset following WWII, including the 1948 statement of George.Kennan that we should " maintain this position of disparity" and we should "dispense with human rights". This is incredible. Thank you Ann Wright for expressing that Manning is being a responsible citizen and soldier by reporting a crime that has been done.
