I don't know why but, I find you quite charming:*. Youtube crush :P. I want to do this someday too, but in a van (customized into a tiny rv) OR ....a tiny rv :). I'll get there someday. (When I'm more brave ...and have money to buy a van or rv)

The van idea is a most excellent idea, indeed. It's got many advantages over my setup, the most advantageous being that you don't have to exit the vehicle to get into your living space. I want a van pretty badly and will get one eventually. Thanks for watching!

i bought a rv camper shell for my truck. they can be had pretty cheap used and are much nicer then a simple shell.

@IHatchetJack Yep.. that and you have room for a mattress, stove, fridge, etc.. A teeny tiny home on wheels :D.. I've been cruising craigslist for vans (mostly just fantasizing about it now) .. If you ever get one and move into it, do a video! Also how scary is it in there at night? I'm female, and naturally paranoid, so I'd probably freak out quite a bit .. Not sure if that's different for men or not.

I am doing the same thing except I purchased a class C mini motorhome for $2,800 and tomorrow am having a $3,500 generator installed. Will pay off interest free loan with unemployment. Out of debt, out of town and mostly off the grid. I did not know anyone else that embraced alternative living until I decided to do it myself. But now I find hundreds of thousands who see this is the way to live.

I think adding some insulation would'nt be overkill. And maybe a kind of stove for wintertime.
