WOW!

I completely understand. It's going to rain this coming week in Los Angeles, so there's no foam latex puppet making until it stops raining.

Hey that's not bad goin'. it's freezing up here in Scotland so everything's taking far longer to dry than it should

Yep, I turned the camera off twice so I could eat once and pick up the kids from school another time. But pretty much the time span of a full days work.

I want to make a latex puppet with a steel armature inside for animation, but I don't quite understand what's going on? I thought, maybe I could sculpt my puppet give it a lick of paint so it holds better push it into clay (front and back) then use that as a latex mould, is it not so simple?

There's a lot of different ways to make molds and castings. The first rule to remember is that soft castings must be made in hard molds and hard castings must be made in soft molds.

Uh huh? So what are you actually using? Are you just covering your sculpt in clay?

No, you don't cover the sculpt in clay. You lay down a clay bed then place the sculpture on the clay and build up around it. Then apply crystal clear and then UltraCal30. There's far to it then just that. I would suggest Kathi Zungs Puppet 101 DVD. It has everything in it.
