these dogs are ultra loyal, it took him almost a year to lay down with my girlfriend......he still will sneak over to me in the middle of the night....mine acts like other people don't exist...unless he's a burglar
We have a toy fox terrier and he is terrific! Make sure you get one from a rescue or a reputable breeder so you find the right dog for you. I have heard of problems with "hiding" urine and poop in the house, but our little guy has only gone a couple of times in the house when he has been desperate. He'll even bark to go out in the night so that he doesn't go in the house. These guys are great for apartments, too.
I totally understand what you're saying. I've lived in my apartment for over 10 years with a no pet policy. Finally, the Manager decided to reward me for being a good tenant by allowing me to have a dog. Any idea where I can find a good TFT in Southern California?
You're very welcome. I'm glad I could help someone seriously consider the breed. I miss my pup, and hope that you have a wonderful time with your new baby. I was lucky enough to have my dog for 5 years before I had to move out. Unfortunately rent is so high where I live that there was nowhere I could find that would allow a dog. I miss her every day and pray that I see her again. They are the most amazing little friends! Let me know how your little pup is soon!!!(through a reply haha)
Thanks for the information thesirenssignal. My wife and I are looking for a dog and it seems a TFT is the best choice for our situation right now. I appreciate the information, we have much to learn, I know.
puppy's will have a tighter bond to you too. the only difference with adults is that you will know if they are housebroken or not. I just wasnt sure as to whether you have a yard or a park nearby or just a sidewalk. you always want to make sure that you've got plenty of time before you bring your dog out if you have to walk to a park. If you have a front or backyard then its easier. you never know, they might bark. It all depends on the dog.
@Sonic12gage You are never supposed to give pets as gifts. It's like, a basic rule...

theyre cute but high maintenance as hell!! They think they're princesses and are very needy. I wouldn't trade mine for anything though.:)
