Host Daren Jaime interviews New York City Comptroller John Liu. They discuss making New York City finances transparent to the public. John Liu talks about difficult budget desicions made by the city council including service reductions. Congress passes a budget extension for the job and education bill contributing almost 600 million between medicaid and educational services. John Liu also discusses the website "Checkbook NYC" the allows New Yorkers to view all of the cities finances. Also Closing the budget gap for 2012-2013; John talks about his efforts to make sure that City agencies don't use taxpayers money inappropriately or inefficiently. More bank foreclosures are being issued due to the economy, some of them unnecessarily and families are losing their homes. John gives his opinion on what is being done so far and ways to prevent unnecessary closures.
