Senior citizens in the country will soon have their social welfare taken care of with a monthly token of 1,500 shillings if a policy prepared by the ministry of Gender to cater for them is approved by parliament. According to the Kenya National human Rights commission, which was launching its report dubbed Growing Old In Kenya- making it a positive experience there is need for the government to come up with measures that will ensure that Kenyans grow old in dignity.

  • kenya should buy ideas from swedish government. in sweden the old and disabled are not discriminated against. from boarding buses to public toilets

  • That old man eating loaf! Old people can be nasty too;there should be laws protecting the public from the viciousness they can sometimes exhibit because some of them are not very nice!I remember I used to take a short-cut from school just to realise midway that the old folk had banned the use of the short-cut without notice, and he had strategically disguised himself in waiting, for unsuspecting students. You would know something was amiss(peace) by having a panga land ferociously on your path!!

  • in the audience there were more young people and less than 10 old people most of which had been there to entertain.
