The RenderStream SLI2600k desktop is the ideal cost effective hardware solution for producing 3D graphics. The brief specs of the system include:

Today's 3D production environment is very demanding on hardware resources. That said, the software you use is evolving and allowing you to utilize highly parallel processing units like the GPU. We realize everyone is on a budget and in order to get the most bang for your buck you need to shift your hardware dollars to the more cost effective, high computation components (GPUs), if your pipeline allows for you to work within their current constraints.

In today's production environment there is considerable less stress on the CPU. Granted, the CPU as well as traditional render farms still play major roles for tasks such as final rendering. Overall though, we are seeing less demands on the CPU during production. Today, the GPU is taking care of many tasks from more efficient viewport interaction, GPU accelerated rendering/previews and computing complex physics simulations to name a few.

With this in mind, it makes sense for artists to bulk up on the components that will help them most in production. While the SLI2600k desktop is not one of our dual processor workstations, the alleviated CPU workload mentioned above makes that fact much less noticable. That said, the single i7 2600K CPU is an excellent CPU and will chew through its given tasks at very respectable speeds.

One other highlight of the SLI2600k desktop is the high speed storage. The system takes advantage of two 1.5 TB hard drives in RAID 1. This ensures data redundancy in the event of a hard drive failure. On top of that, the RAID is equipped with a 20 GB solid state cache which boosts the overall IOPS of the system - ideal for those who wish to use the machine for compositing.
