I have Social Anxiety!

I am so glad to hear that I am not alone. It is truly comforting. One thing I wanted to mention is that I truly believe social anxiety is a great quality to have regardless of how others may perceive it to be. I much rather be around someone that is quiet and considerate of others opinions rather than be around those that are insensitive and egotistical within their actions. You are a blessing to this world with your supposed 'flaw'.
I am a social anxiety sufferer.

If SA is the 3rd most common, then why is it so hard to get disability?

I have just discovered i have SA.. Not sure how to go about fixing this, i realise i might never cure it but with help i hope to get better. I Hate small talk too! Just cant socialize properly. I panick when the phone rings. Going to the shops or bank can be a real struggle. I think most people think when they meet me that i'm stuck up or just weird. I have never met anyone in real life with SA. Glad to kno i'm not alone thou

Sorry for my previous and obviously not approved comment. Its individual and it helps me. Just dont take it to seriously and dont get feared by how do you impress the people. Its your life you dont have to pretend.

I can't do anything but socialize with girls. I guess in that respect I'm lucky.
Yea, it´s all about the fucking environment. But where are people like you in my life? I mean, I see this stuff now on YouTube, but I´ve never seen someone like all these people in my reality here. Where are they? Is this nothing but a fake world?

@johnnyolsen100 There are lots of people that seem confident, but they are nervous inside. Never judge a book by it's cover!

I experience the exact same thing that you explained. My question is, do you take any medication to help you? Beta blockers? I am thinking about seeing a psychiatrist.

@GSWarriors9 at them moment I do not find medication works for me at this time in my life. However I took anti-depresents in 2003 for 6 months, and it did help a little bit.

I experience practically everything you mentioned. The dreaded small talk (i avoid the staff kitchen in case another staff member comes in there to make coffee and then i'd hav to think of wat to say). I can small talk for a minute, 2 mins at most but after that i am mentally exhausted so i'd hav to make a quick exit! at work i replay in my head wat i said earlier to some1, worryin dat i may have been rude, annoyin or wierd. I cant end phone conversations without worryin if i said bye properly

@sophabgurl I always try to be the last one to say bye, cheers, see ya ... incase they think I am rude. I then worry I sound like a right moron!
