@harglbargl Thanks for the quick reply! It was very useful and just the bit of info I needed

Thanks, I was buying some opinels as gifts and needed to see videos of them to see what size they really are, I was thinking of the no 5 but it does look a lot weaker and smaller when I see you handling it in the video then it does in website pictures.
I think I'll get the no 8 or no 10 instead.

@esc1127 That's probably a good choice. My #5 came with a #8 that I got for my friend, and it is a significantly nicer knife, especially since it came with a walnut handle. It also has the Opinel ring lock which is nice.

Does the knife open up with a flick or can it shake open. I'm thinking of getting the Opinel no.2 which also doesn't have a lock and am a bit worried about it opening up in my pocket. -Vncent

@LastDEF You will not be able to shake or flip it open. There is enough friction in the opening and closing actions that it tends to stay closed (or open, unless you try to stab something hard with it).

So are you going to start an Opinel collection? That might be kinda fun, although I don't have a clue how many variations they make. :)

@5x56mm Probably not. I just thought this knife looked cool, and since it was only $7 I ordered one. I may order a larger one in the future, but I think one is enough for now ;)
