The MZ-R90/91 is a very slimm MD unit with lots of nice features. and you could get it for some 90 pound I suppose. it used the gum stick battery or you can attach the external AA adapter.
Its not Hi-MD though, but it will be cheaper than the MZ-RH1 (wich is incredible and woth every penny!)
no question about it... MD sound quality is awesome ... mp3 doesn't compare... not to mention the onboard track editing capability of MD recorders. I too want the mz-rh1 for my home studio recordings, i'll prefer recording my projects to it than my PC. great studio yu've got!
I've a an MZ-R710, it's was a good machine. However now it's partly broken and I need to find the charger. I've also bought a second hand MZ-E33. The MZ-E33 only playes SP recorded discs, but it has to be almost 10 years old and has lasted longer than any MP3 I've owned. I'd love to get a HiMD recorder, so I can record cassettes and things in PCM. It's a shame those HiMD disks are over priced. Perhaps you should get one of the those MD recorders with XLR ports.
Great video, was looking to buy one of these 'Sony MZ-RH1' or either the 'EH1' but they are a little to expensive and usually don't sell on ebay within the UK.
I have how ever bought a MZ-E60 not releasing that it did not have the recording function on it which I wanted. As I already have a bulky sharp MD player somewhere I just wanted a slimmer MD player with recording ability.
yeah mini disc!!!!! love em

You ought to try the dock output on your iPod, it's way clearer and ideal for lossless files. The line out is just plain garbage.
