"the medium is the massage"

This a quick and sketchy report on "The Medium Is the Massage" by Marshall Mcluhan, 1967 Random House. For a book published forty years ago, it has a lot of insight into the nature and effect of media in our world today; and is of particular relevance to YouTube, which could arguably be the latest occurance of the "global village". I also had to get this video report done because the book is a million days overdue.

Wow, there's a book 2? I remember hearing the audio offering as a kid in the early 70's and re-discovered it about 10 years ago when going through some of my Dad's old reel-to-reels. I taped it to cassette for as many of my friends who would take it and consider that it has a true kind of "mind-expanding" effect. The audio version features sound, music, di- and monolog from each stereo channel and requires many listenings to decode. This method of this medium lends itself nicely to the message!

Mcluhan really is interesting on how the media tries also BEHAVIORISM on all of us, which is negative in many ways, specially used by the politicians. We really get our psyque, amd unconcious mind massaged by TV. Thank you for the video.
