Sky Lanterns - Whitstable Wishes

"A brand new event to close the Festival. Witness the uplifting sight of hundreds of paper lanterns lit with the wishes of Whitstable as they gently drift out to sea."
That was the write up in the programme. The week before it was so windy the boat with the fireworks almost sank. SO would the lanterns go out to sea?

Well yes, there was a light breeze, just the pushed the lanterns out over the beach and sea. the sea was like a millpond
