@mrorganarse The lexus has an electronic transmission control ( pcm ) powertrain control module and the gear shifter is just a switch, there is no cable just wires and when the computer sees a ( wot ) wide open throttle IT WONT LET YOU SHIFT OUT OF DRIVE OR INTO NEUTRAL OR INTO PARK the car was a death trap and the driver was a California highway patrol officer, not your average idiot toyota owner. The brakes cooked ( heat faded ) and the car ignored all user imputs.

why didn't the 911 operator just ask if it was auto or manuel,if it was manuel just push the clutch in and let the fucking motor blow. if it was auto put it in neutral and the same thing let the motor rev it's head off.hearing the desperation in the poor blokes voice gave me goosebumps
