The Watchtower has always kept the identities of the men who 'translated' the NWT a secret. But all it took was one 'apostate' to undo all of that.
Were the men responsible for the NWT qualified scholars? Can the NWT be trusted?
Franz, Frederick
Probably the only person to actually translate. Franz was a liberal arts student at the University of Cincinnati:
*21 semester hours of classical Greek, some Latin.
*Partially completed a two-hour survey course in Biblical Greek in junior year.
*Self-taught in Spanish, biblical Hebrew and Aramaic
Gangas, George
No training in biblical languages. Gangas was a Turkish national who knew Modern Greek. Translated Watchtower publications into Modern Greek.
Henschel, Milton
No training in biblical languages.
Klein, Karl
No training in biblical languages.
Knorr, Nathan
No training in biblical languages.
Schroeder, Albert
No training in biblical languages. Schroeder majored in mechanical engineering for three years before dropping out.

@stolli72 I first found out about it from a recording of Walter Martin. He said the info was leaked by an apostate Jehovah's witness who was working in Bethel at the time the NWT committee was there working on the translation. I googled it and looked into each of the men listed.
