Video tour of the TarpTent Scarp 2 in three- and four-season configuration. Originally seen in Will Rietveld's review of the Scarp 2 on Backpackinglight.com.
Does this tent come with the extra crosspoles for Winter/Weather setup? Also, does it come with both the mesh and solid nylon configuration options or do you choose 1 and pay extra if u want both? Shires' site doesn't list any options/accessories and doesn't really clarify whether or not the 2 crosspoles are included or extra. Thx!
I don't think you understand the concept of "double wall", sorry. Whether you use the mesh or solid nylon interior, it's still double walled. You have a separate interior and fly (yes, Henry Shire himself calls it a "fly"). That's the definition of a double wall tent. Mesh or solid, doesn't matter. You can setup the fly by itself, but many double wall tents work that way. That's really all I've got to say on the subject. Take it up with Henry Shire if you're still confused.
Available mesh INTERIOR for 3-season use or solid WALL interior for 4-season use. Wanna play I OWN this tent and a contrail. It's only DOUBLE WALLED in the winter configuration.
From Henry Shire's website: "Four season, free-standing, and snow-load capable with optional 17-ounce pole crossing pole set.
Available mesh or solid wall interior. DOUBLE WALL, dual entry, and dual vestibules...". Henry Shire calls is a double wall tent. The Scarp is a different design from other Tarptents. There is no "normal" configuration. You choose either solid internal wall or mesh internal wall.
