That himalayas thing was a reference to another Monty Python sketch about exploring the Hilmalayas. Look it up!

The part where John and Gonzo are together, John is talking about Gonzo's nose and how he should get it fixed. This is also featured in Monty Python's "Cosmetic Surgery" sketch where Graham wants his nose to be fixed. =)
