I think it falls under "The Right of a Timelord" as the master said even if harriet was right.. but frankly we have no idea what would of happened.. the earrh might off gained some respect among the stars.. and they might off backed off. and it wouldnt of been the Sycorax who attacked if it was ..
No problem.. im looking forward to waters of mars.. but im not at the same time.. it just means David is no more episode away from going.. ya, he didnt look happy at all :P poor Doctor :P ha
Being over 900 years old the Doctor should know better than to disrespect government decisions least they eventually turn on him; yet he treated Harriet Jones liked she worked for him instead of Britain. Harriet was right, the aliens could have returned stronger if she hadnt terminated them; they did attack Earth first.
Anyway, loved our chat and hope to exchange comments again. Im looking forward to the Waters of Mars, the Doc looks scared the Master is going to get him - excellent!
Harriet jones was a very good prime minister.... and i did miss her throughout series.. but the doctor was only a new man and has just regenerated.. he wasnt as forgiving as he was later in the series..
and in series 4... when he found she had died to get him there.. you seen the regret in his eyes...
but in the parrell world when he found out she was prime minister.. he still didnt trust her.. " Watch out for her" he said
I'm just waiting for your response about my Harriet Jones comment to end this very fun discussion as I think we've pretty much exhausted this current thread, don't you think?
I can see why the Doc missed Rose as she was fun and she came with both her mother and Mickey and the Doc had a little family with them; he seemed less troubled with them around; except for what he did to Harriet Jones. Harriet Jones was one of my favorite characters and as the elected Prime Minister it was her right to guard Earth (or at least Britain) as she saw fit. I've always believe the Doc was wrong for ruining her government because she disobeyed him; he was not elected by anyone.
However, the Doc went back with Donna and they found something, I forgot what, and Professor Song's soul or whatever, was placed on the hard drive with the others that couldn't come back which was most of the people she arrived with. Remember that young girl that died first (that was really sad), she was there on the hard drive too. Most people I have discussed this with believe she was his wife from the future too; they build some kind or organization and then she dies; now we know how.
ya.. tom and martha was a good match :)well she was looking for in the wrong person like the doctor.. alota of the companions forget he is not human!
well john smith was merely the doctor without his timelord memories and of course abilities to a certain extent.. which allowed him to love, and let go again and have a life his timelord self could never have!! so they where very similar..its just the period in time they where in didnt favour martha.. example matrons racist remark!!
she got killed saving all the people in the library.. the computer didnt have enough memory to teleport them all back to human form.. she knocked out the doctor & took his place..
Well she got the screwdriver from the Doctor she knew in the future!!
its just she knew the doctors real name ... And as the doctor said to her b4 she died.. "There is only reason i would tell anyone my name there is only one time i could" .. its horrible the way that question will prob be never answered!!
Agreed, yet the relationship between Martha and the Doctor would have had to change anyway because Martha had finally taken a stand and she wasn't going backwards either. However, I do like Martha with Tom Milligan, he is brave, a doctor like Martha, cute and Tom is very gentle with Martha, a much needed contrast to what she experienced with the Doc. That the Doc used his human name in 1913 tells me John Smith and the Doc are not as different as he'd like Martha, in particular, to believe.
Uh, is that the lady in Series 4 from the the Library episode? If so, yes she could be the Doctor's wife sometime in the future (she eventually died or was put in the computer's hard drive for safe keeping), or perhaps she is timelord or timelord turned human. She did have hr own screwdriver. Yes, anything is possible.
