In 2009, the New York State Senate rejected a bill that would have allowed gay couples to wed. The vote was 38-24, with 8 Democrats voting against marriage equality. Within hours, hundreds of activists gathered in Times Square.

  • The thing I don't understand is... you are preventing gay people from marrying EACHOTHER. Why do you even have the

RIGHT to control what THEY do that doesn't include you?

  • You've said it VOTE THEM OUT! Do it people I'm all for equal rights and when I'm older I'll go and volunteer for it. Hopefully some day the world will see that we're all the same and that it doesn't matter if we're gays, lesbians or straight. The only thing which really matters in a relationship is the LOVE!!!! I'll support the gay and lesbian community my whole life, that's definite.

  • thanks for the names. these assholes WILL be getting a piece of my mind. VOTE THEM OUT! their just as bad as republicans!

  • You are entitled to your view. Unfortunately, some people will be hostile to you because you are different.

  • Keep fighting!

  • too bad they didn't go over to 30 Rock where the Christmas tree was being lit
