We, in Yosemite, are still covered in snow now. I'll send you a video from tunnel view in winter of the valley in snow. Amazing how the seasons dramatically change Yosemite each year .

I hate that California is mostly commonly associated with the artificial aspects it has. Superficial teenagers dream of their 'beautiful' California - thinking of Hollywood, fame, and celebrities. They have NO idea that the true beauty of California lies in Yosemite and all of the other natural parts of it. I grew up in southern California and absolutely hated it because of everything superficial it is identified with. My yearly trips to Yosemite are a breath of fresh air - literally.

I can't wait to see all these beautiful places! do you think mariposa grove road will be open in early april? I'm going to visit yosemite national park this year. from el portal, highway 140, then to the yosemite valley. do you think it will be safe to drive from the valley through higway 41 and see giant sequoias at mariposa grove and then leave the park by south entrance???

I am 12 and I went on an 8 hour tour there and i did NOT get bored!!
Yes indeed there is No Place on Earth like Yosemite!! I was fortunate to be employed there for 18 months back in 1978 - 79. It was a Most beautiful time to live & work there thru All 4 season changes!! I even had the honor of preparing a cold vegetable platter with dip for Famed naturalist photographer- "Ansel Adams" in the Awahnee hotel dining room- 1979.

These national parks are a part of American culture and beauty. We must fight to preserve such parks as this, for without em, we lose an important part of our history!
